MPs Tell New KCC To Stop Supplying Milk To NIS Over Ksh. 4M Debt

The National Intelligence Service is listed among the government agencies owing the New Kenya Co-operatives Creameries (KCC) millions of shillings.

Members of parliament have told the New KCC to stop supplying milk to the NIS over Ksh4 million debt, as well as other state agencies that have failed to settle their respective debts totaling to Ksh184.3 million.

State House owes the company Ksh14.62 million while the office of the First Lady Rachel Ruto is yet to pay the company Ksh3.07 million for the milk supply.

The Ministry of Defense and the Administration Police Service have accrued the largest debts with Ksh.49.49 million and Ksh.32.38 million, respectively.

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) owes Ksh.10.53 million while the facility’s private wing owes Ksh.4.45 million.

The matter was exposed on Thursday when the New KCC Managing Director Samuel Ichura and Cooperatives Principal Secretary Patrick Kilemi appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Committee seeking answers on delayed payments to dairy and coffee farmers.

The PS noted that the milk processor is struggling in its operations due to huge amounts of debt.
