Muhoroni given priority in TVETs Project targeting 52 constituencies

Muhoroni constituency is listed among the top beneficiaries under the government`s plan to construct an additional 52 Technical and Vocational Training Institutions (TVETs) across the country.
The government has set aside sh1 billion to build the first 15 technical training institutions in this financial year.
State Department for Technical Vocational Education and Training Principal Secretary Esther Muoria said the ministry is working to ensure each constituency in the country gets its TVET institution.

“This financial year we were allowed to do 15 institutions. We are on the tail end of advertising those ones. In the next financial year, we will do another 15 TVETs. Then in the next financial year we will do 22. I want to assure you, the process is ongoing,” the PS said.

Muhoroni Member of Parliament James Onyango Ko`yoo welcomed the move and noted that construction of TVETSs in each constituency is bound to equip youth, who make up the majority of the population, with skills to spur economic growth.
