Raila`s Azimio to Deploy Spy Cameras during Demonstrations
Raila Odinga`s Azimio La Umoja coalition will deploy IP-enabled hidden cameras in strategic areas across the country to monitor and catch troublemakers during the anti-government demonstrations.
The technology to be used for the first time tomorrow (Monday , March 27) is a secured online platform programmed to send data to the coalition`s cloud servers in real time .
National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi disclosed the IP-enabled spy cameras will also capture individuals who infiltrate the demonstration with an aim of causing mayhem.
The coalition noted that Kenyans need a safe online community where members of the public are invited to post occurrences in the face of real threat to the free media.
The technology allows multimedia documentation of the protests in progress, including photographs, videos and audio recordings.
Notably, the deployment of technology is seemingly inspired by government`s futile attempts to withdraw broadcast licenses of local media covering live opposition protests.
Raila also implicated Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in alleged government plot to hire goons to masquerade as protestors and in the process cause chaos, kill hundreds of people as part of proving to the international community that the Azimio leader should be blamed for anarchy in the country.
However, a showdown is looming following hardline stands taken by the opposition and Kenya`s security system towards the demonstrations scheduled by the opposition to take place every Mondays and Thursdays.
A tough talking Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome banned countrywide protests but Azimio leaders led by Raila and Martha Karua dared the police boss to arrest them during the coalition`s mass action.
